Roy Thomas and some people from the YMCA have given Abbey Buttress a long needed makeover.  It’s an excellent sandstone crag.

Abbey Buttress, Port Talbot has been revamped with now almost 30 routes from Fr.5 up and the access path is now easily passable.

Full credit goes to Roy Thomas, Chris Allen (Snr), Peter Ross and volunteers from the YMCA who not only performed the mammoth task of clearing the gorse but did sterling work removing vegetation at the crag.

This and their donation of re-gearing equipment make them the heroes of the hour and a fine example of community spirit in action. Go there and enjoy!
