BOLTING POLICY
As this area is formed from natural sandstone outcrops - NO BOLTING IS ALLOWED! Please see the Gower and South East Wales Area Bolting Policy for further guidance.
PREAMBLE
Coed-Pen-Maen Common (better know as 'Pontypridd Common') is the obvious natural sandstone outcrop seen when driving north up the A470. The other obvious reference is the war memorial seen at the top of the outcrops. The common is often used by dog walkers and toggers. Please respect their right to be there too!
ACCESS
Turn off the A470 for Pontypridd and drive past the two round-a-bouts to the right turn onto the A4223 that leads steeply uphill (not left into the town centre). At the crossroads continue straight on into 'Common Road' and park discretely. Most of the problems are found on the natural outcrop seen from the road and under the war memorial. There are also routes found on the 2m high boulder found 30 behind the war memorial.
