Wednesday Weekly Meet
On Wednesday night those in the Swansea area are meeting at Dynamic Rock from 6:30pm, whilst those around Cardiff will mainly be at Boulders from around 6pm with a stop for refreshments in the café at some point.

In search of Winter

Ten members headed to the hut in North Wales over the weekend in search of winter conditions. The trip quickly turned into SWMC’s first winter skills weekend in recent history. On Saturday all members headed up Banana Gully (Winter grade I) on Y Garn, the majority of members on their first winter climb, whilst on Sunday the conditions were less favourable, where one group ascended Snowdon via Crib Goch, whilst another headed up Moel Siabod.

New Guidebook?
The membership agreed at the AGM after a proposal that the club should look into the practicalities of creating a new guidebook. The committee would therefore like to invite members who may be interested in contributing to such a project, in order to assess the feasibility of taking it on as a workable project. If you are interested, in whatever form that may be (route checking, graphic designing, proof reading, photography etc) please contact [email protected]

Penallta Cleanup
Peter and Curon are organising on behalf of the British Mountaineering Council Area a crag cleanup at at the sandstone outcrop at Parc Penallta. The last clean up was organised just over 10 years ago:

Unfortunately broken glass and cans have accumulated at this location, making the location very unattractive, despite the excellent climbing available there.

We are hoping to arrange this on the 3rd March, to coincide with Spring Clean Cymru, and hope that many members of the club will be able to join and partake. Further information will be available shortly.

Upcoming Meets
There are currently no meets planned within the next month. Anyone may contribute a meet to the list.
