Cilfrew Edge (West) – 9th August

A very select group of six members arrived at Cilfrew for the official meet. Never having visited before there was a bit of thrashing about in the undergrowth and slipping and sliding on the leaf mould before we reached the buttresses. Golf Ball Wall was the venue of choice as that is where we arrived. Gwyn had to fabricate a harness as he had left his at home and ended up seconding because the weight of the rope would probably have taken it off. Gethin did a fine job of looking after the forgetful old man leading Golf Ball Wall (VS 4c), Sausage Party (HVS 5a) and Amish Cyborg (HVS 5a) and Mike led Ball Fondlers (VS 4c) before Martin joined us and we split into pairs. Headtorches for the descent show that outdoor evenings will be coming to an end soon.
