Ynysybwl Quarry
GR ST 054 954 (Probably Incorrect)
PREAMBLE
Pleasant sheltered crag, with sound rock, although there is frequent seepage on routes off the main slab. Protection is sparse so dig out your gritstone head. The belay is frightening (a wobbly sapling in a collapsing shale bank) on the routes off the main slab.
ACCESS
From the centre of Pontypridd take the Ynysybwl turn off by the main Police Station (B4273). Continue into Ynysybwl and pass the post office on the right hand side. Take the gravel track 300m further on the right and follow this (remains of Lady Windsor Quarry on the right) to a gate on the right, behind a new estate development. Park up. Follow the path leading on, and climb over the fence into the field on the uphill side. Follow any of the vague paths up the hillside to the obvious square-cut quarry. Buses also run from Pontypridd to Ynysybwl.
See Map Of Gower and SE Wales (probably incorrect)
