I like the way you've organised this. I particularly like the short intros on this page for each of the crags.

12 figure grid references are good too for those with a GPS... though might it also be an idea to include the 100kx100k are in which it lies... e.g., SS, SN, etc.,?

See OS Maps Grid References

Also I like the way that you have hidden the page contents. Somehow it makes it neater.

Not convinced about the First Ascents being at the bottom. It will make it quite a bit more labourious when pages are updated with new climbs. However, I think it is neater having them at the bottom. I'm in two minds about it... --Tim Hoddy 20:25, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Indeed, the grid ref was copied from the guide book. I use the co-ords a lot in work and I'm always in two minds whether to use the 12 figure or the 6 figure with alphabetic 11km2 prefix.

I recon the first ascents will stay at bottom and will be out of the way in the guidebook too (not interesting and consumes too much space).--Alan rosier 21:39, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm.. are you saying that the 12-figure GR dispenses with the two-letter prefix? Surely that's not what the link above is saying? --Tim Hoddy 22:02, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Normally (and historically) we use the letter prefix with 6 numbers but more recently we are dispensing with the letters and replacing them with the numbers and extra accuracy so that they can be put into GIS systems and the like.--Alan rosier 22:23, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

I assumed that the extra numbers were simply greater accuracy... i.e. down to 100cm2. If you are right, this wouldn't help those folks with GPS as all of the GPS systems I have used have the option to display position as a British grid references in the form of, e.g. SS 56454 78765

Can someone check the lat/long of the crags listed in the map. They are not accurate. Anyone going up there, could they please take a GPS and then update the GoogleMap template. Alternatively, you could just send the lat/longs to me. --Tim Hoddy 10:13, 12 May 2012 (BST)
