Mumbles Light House Cave

TIDAL STATUS
Extremely Tidal. ¾ hour either side of low water.
BOLTING POLICY
No bolting.
PREAMBLE
These are some fine new routes in unusual surroundings. The rock and the lines are good. Only the extremely tidal nature is a nuisance.
ACCESS
As parking is a problem, the most sensible approach is to follow the B4433 and park at Bracelet Bay (see Rams Tor for more details). Walk back to the Mumbles Point Headland and walk into the beach to the islet of the lighthouse. The routes are in the cave below the lighthouse.
DESCENTS
Scramble down at various points.
THE ROUTES
1. Magra Thea 20m E6,6b **
From the left side of the cave, follow the crack and cross a roof to easy climbing. Very strenuous, with good gear, which is difficult to place.
2. The Resteraunt At The End Of The Universe 20m HVS,5b
On the right-hand side of the cave is an overhang with a pocket in it. Climb direct to the overhang, take it slightly to the right, then follow the groove line to the top.
3. The Big Bang Burger Bar 20m HS,4b
The groove a few metres to the right of The Resteraunt At The End Of The Universe.
