This news item is provided by Jethro Withers one of our esteemed members in the club. Jethro has been working hard in the last year or so to change his career and establish his outdoor business. In this post Jethro tells us about his journey:
I was first introduced to climbing and the outdoors in my late teens, developing as a hobby ever since. In 2013 my father passed away, causing me to re-evaluate my life in a big way. After 10 years running a service business in Swansea I decided to change my career and my life for a job I would truly love. I came up with an idea after a walking holiday, to offer glamping and hiking trips initially in the UK and then further afield. This has now grown into my first year working professionally as a Mountain Leader in my own business and freelance capacity.
Climbing and mountaineering is now becoming my main drive and coping mechanism for my life. Recently my personal circumstances changed and I have been lucky enough to meet someone who also shares my passion. I have moved to Snowdonia to continue this path and follow a life in the mountains. I am now a qualified Mountain Leader and a trained International Mountain Leader and Winter Mountain Leader along with my SPA.
“Life is what happens when you are making other plans” so stop planing and start doing.
